What this cream is used for:
It is used for fungal infections of the skin, such as foot fungus, nail fungus and diaper eczema. It is also used for some skin infections with bacteria, such as acne.

How this drug works:
Miconazole kills fungi, yeasts (such as Candida yeast) and certain bacteria. Most skin infections, such as redness, itching and scaling, diminish within 2 to 6 weeks. Acne lessens after 4 to 12 weeks. It may take 8 months for the entire nail to heal from a nail infection.

How this remedy is used:
Use the cream or ointment on skin infections, foot fungus and diaper eczema, the tincture on nail fungus, and sprinkle the powder in your socks and shoes if you have foot fungus or nail fungus. For acne, use the combination with benzoyl peroxide.

• Skin infections and diaper eczema: the fungal threads are located a little way outside the inflamed area. Therefore, apply the cream or ointment 2 cm wider than the inflamed area.
• Foot fungus: before each application, wash the feet well, and remove any flakes. Therefore, spread the cream 2 cm wider than the inflamed areas.
• Fungal nails: keep nails as short as possible. Before each application, clean well. If after 2 to 3 weeks the nail loosens, continue treatment until a new, healthy nail has grown. This takes about eight months.
• Acne: First test whether your skin tolerates the cream by treating a small area for the first few days. If it goes well, you can treat a larger area. Clean the skin with lukewarm water before applying the cream. Apply the cream in a thin layer to the affected areas.
