Claims
Canesten GYNO 1, cream for vaginal use 100 mg/g contains clotrimazole as the active ingredient.
Clotrimazole is a substance that kills or inhibits the growth of certain fungal or yeast species. Canesten GYNO 1, cream for vaginal use 100 mg/g is suitable for women 16 years and older

What this medicine is used for.
Canesten GYNO 1, cream for vaginal use 100 mg/g is used for infections in the vagina (vulva),
which are caused by certain types of fungus or yeast. You can recognize a vaginal yeast infection
recognize by itching, a burning sensation, red, swollen, painful labia and a white, lumpy,
odorless discharge ("vaginal bleeding").

The most common causative agent is Candida albicans. This fungus is normally present on the skin and
can cause symptoms under certain circumstances, such as with reduced resistance, around the
menstruation or during antibiotic use. Other organisms can also intensify vaginal bleeding.

Do not use if
You are allergic to any of the substances in this medicine.

Do not use Canesten GYNO 1, cream for vaginal use 100 mg/g if you suffer from one or more of the following symptoms:
- pain in the lower abdomen or pain when urinating;
- fever or chills;
- irregular or abnormal bleeding;
- sores or blisters on or around the genitals;
- lower back pain
- nausea or vomiting;
- diarrhea;
- pus formation;
- strong-smelling discharge.

Composition
Active substance: The active substance per pre-filled applicator is 100 mg/g clotrimazole
Excipients: benzyl alcohol (20mg/g), cetostearyl alcohol, cetyl palmitate, isopropyl myristate, water, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate

Dosage
The recommended dosage for women 16 years and older is a single pre-filled applicator. Insert this as deeply as possible into the vagina at night before bedtime.
If the infection has also spread outside the vagina around the labia (this can be recognized by itching, a burning sensation, red, swollen, painful labia), clotrimazole cream 10 mg/g can be used to treat this and to prevent reinfection. For about one
week, apply it thinly to the affected areas twice a day.

Instructions for use.
Insertion of the pre-filled applicator into the vagina is best done while lying on your back, with your legs slightly raised and spread.

Insertion using the provided applicator

Canesten gyno 1 vaginal cream is administered as follows:
1. Insert rod into the applicator B.
2. Remove white cap with a twisting motion.
3. Hold the labia apart with your free hand and gently press the applicator into the vagina as deeply as possible.
Slowly press rod all the way in, until the applicator is empty.
4. Retract the applicator and discard.

General
Your partner should be treated with an antifungal cream in case of infection of the penis to prevent you from continuing to infect each other.
