Imodium Instant melting tablet 2 mg orodispersible tablets

Drug RVG 33724 AV

Imodium Instant melting tablet (hereinafter called "Imodium") contains loperamide hydrochloride. This is a substance that reduces excessively propulsive movements of the intestine. Thus, this substance ensures the action of Imodium against diarrhea. Imodium works only where it is needed - in the intestine. Imodium usually stops diarrhea within a few hours.

Application
Imodium is used against acute or chronic diarrhea in adults and children 8 years and older. Acute diarrhea starts suddenly and is usually over within a week. Chronic diarrhea is prolonged. Imodium is used to treat the diarrhea itself. It does not treat the cause of the diarrhea. If the cause of the diarrhea is known, that cause should be treated.

Composition
Contains per tablet as active substance 2 mg loperamide hydrochloride, mannitol (E421), aspartame (E951), and sodium hydrogen carbonate.
Excipients: Gelatin (E485), mannitol (E421), aspartame (E951), mint flavoring, sodium hydrogen carbonate

- In case of acute (sudden) diarrhea
Start with 2 tablets (4 mg). Then take 1 tablet (2 mg) after each subsequent loose stool,
as long as the diarrhea lasts. Never take more than 8 tablets (16 mg) in one day.
- For chronic (prolonged) diarrhea
Start with 2 tablets (4 mg) per day. Then adjust this dose until you have solid stools 1 to 2 times a day. This is usually achieved with 1 to 6 tablets (2 to 12 mg) per day. You should never take more than 8 tablets (16 mg) in a day.
