Lactulose Actavis belongs to a group of medicines called laxatives. Lactulose Actavis is used for the treatment of constipation
Composition:
The active ingredient is lactulose.
Lactulose Actavis also contains other types of sugars, including LACTOSE, galactose and fructose.
Do not use if
You are allergic to any of the substances in this medicine.
Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include itching, reddening of the skin and breathing difficulties.
If you suffer from an occlusion of your intestines (bowel obstruction) caused by something other than normal constipation.
If you have a rare condition called "galactosemia" (increased levels of galactose in the blood).
If you suffer from short inflamed bowel disease and fluid imbalances in the body.
Usage:
The table below shows the recommended, age-dependent initial dosage of Lactulose Actavis.
Adults: 15 ml twice daily.
Children from 5 to 10 years: 10 ml twice daily
Children 2 to 5 years of age: 5 ml twice daily
Babies aged 1 - 2 years: 2.5 - 5 ml twice daily
Infants from 1 month - 1 year: 2.5 ml twice daily
This remedy can be taken with water or fruit juice.
