There is no debate in science that omega-3 is hugely important for health. The best known omega-3 fatty acids are alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

Min 100 mg EPA and 300 mg DHA
Vegan Omega-3 capsules is a natural product, which means amounts of DHA and EPA may vary. However, we do guarantee a total amount of 500 mg omega 3, and a minimum of 100 mg EPA and 300 mg DHA per capsule.

Natural and best absorbable triglyceride form
When developing omega-3 supplementation, we separate the active ingredients EPA and DHA from the other fatty acids. There are two ways to do this:

1. In the process where we extract the forms, ethyl esters are formed. These are harder for the body to absorb. To absorb these omega-3 properly, the body depends on the substance glycerol. However, if this nutrient is not present in sufficient quantity within your body then you will not absorb the omega-3 efficiently either.

2. A higher-quality process ensures that the substances are brought back to their original molecular structure. Triglycerides are called the omega-3 that results from this process. It is the best absorbable form, independent of excipients for absorption into the body. This is why our Vegan Omega-3 contains only triglycerides.

The production of most fish oils requires large quantities of fish, depleting oceans. The call for a sustainable and traceable source of omega-3 is therefore great. The renowned algae producer DSM® has taken up the ambitious challenge and is now making omega-3 fatty acids from microalgae. This contributes to the global challenge of maintaining the natural biodiversity of our oceans.

Production process has minimal Co2 emissions
Producing life's™ OMEGA consists of 4 steps:

1. The process starts with sugar and marine algae. The sugar comes from renewable beers, wheat and corn. The algae strain we call Schizochytrium sp. This is grown by DSM® at the plant in Nebraska (U.S.).
2. The algal cells multiply during the fermentation process where they convert sugar into omega-3 fatty acids. These accumulate in oil vesicles.
3. Then, the cell wall of the vesicles breaks down through the downstream process. In this way, the oil is separated from the water and the end result is a highly concentrated algal oil and a liquid byproduct.
4. The by-product is used by DSM® as a source of protein or can be converted into biogas for electricity production.

Naturally high EPA concentration for algal oil
What makes this algal oil special is its naturally high EPA concentration. The algae strain (Schizochytrium) that DSM® uses in the process has the advantage of producing both EPA and DHA.

Schizochytrium is a natural algal strain from the North Pacific Ocean and is not genetically modified. Therefore, the final product is an exceptionally pure algal oil with a concentration of over 50% omega-3 fatty acids.

High dose of vegan vitamin E protects against oxidation
Omega-3 fatty acids are sensitive to oxidation. The moment the oil oxidizes, the fatty acids become rancid and it loses some of its efficacy. That is why we have added as much as 2.1 mg of the antioxidant vitamin E, which protects the omega 3 from oxidation, so to speak.

Exceptionally low TOTOX oxidation value of <8
Another unique feature of our Vegan Omega-3 capsules is the exceptionally low TOTOX oxidation value (<8). The TOTOX value is a measure of the purity and absence of contaminants in the oil. The lower this value, the cleaner the omega-3. Legally, the TOTOX must be below 26. So with a value below 8, our Vegan Algae Oil is doing exceptionally well!

No fishy burps
Because of the extremely low TOTOX and the addition of vitamin E, you also experience no fishy burps when using this algae oil. This is because the burping up of fatty acids is related to the degree to which the oil is oxidized.

Softgels prevent algae taste
Our vegan algae oil is available in capsule form. The capsule ensures that you do not have to taste the specific taste of the algae oil. This is usually perceived as not very pleasant.

Vegan Omega-3 Algae Oil we have for those who do not like it or have difficulty swallowing the capsules. This liquid form also allows you to dose the oil to your liking.

- EPA and DHA are good for the heart at a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA/DHA
- EPA and DHA are good for triglyceride levels in the blood at a daily intake of 2 grams of EPA/DHA. Additional daily intake of EPA/DHA should not exceed 5 g.
- EPA and DHA are good for blood pressure at a daily intake of 3 grams of EPA/DHA. Additional daily intake of EPA/DHA should not exceed 5 g.
- DHA is good for vision, brain and triglyceride levels. At a minimum intake of 250 mg DHA per day.
- Maternal intake of DHA, contributes to proper fetal eye development and in breastfed infants. At a minimum intake of 250 mg DHA per day.
- Maternal intake of DHA contributes to normal brain development in the fetus and breastfed infants. At a minimum intake of 250 mg DHA per day.
