Xylometazoline HCl Teva 1 mg/ml, nasal spray, solution

Drug

This medicine contains the active ingredient xylometazoline. This is a local acting decongestant and provides relief from nasal congestion. A decongestant reduces swelling of the nasal mucosa.

Application
This remedy is used for the temporary treatment of the symptoms of nasal congestion due to inflammation of the nasal mucosa (rhinitis) or inflammation of the paranasal sinuses (sinusitis).

Active substance: 1 atomization (corresponding to 0.09 ml of solution) contains 0.09 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride
Excipients: citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate dihydrate, glycerol 85%, water for injection

Dosage
If otherwise prescribed by your physician, the dosage in adults and children 10 years of age and older is 1-2 sprays per nostril as needed, but not more than 3 times daily.

Directions for use
After removing the protective cap, insert the spray opening into your nostril and press it
once. Breathe gently through the nose while doing this. After use, wipe the spray opening
with a clean tissue and replace the protective cap.

Do not use if
- You are allergic to any of the substances in this medicine.
- If you have recently had surgery on the brain (transsphenoidal pituitary dissection or other surgery where the meninges were exposed).
- If you suffer from dry rhinitis (a form of chronic rhinitis in which there is dry inflammation of the nasal mucosa with crusting).
- Xylometazoline HCl Teva 1 mg/ml should not be used in children under 10 years of age
